Directions and instructions regarding what to bring are sent with final registration confirmation materials. All events are held from 9 am to 5 pm each day unless otherwise specified in the description.

Lodging for events at Ardantane is available on campus. Contact Ardantane at (505) 469-7777 for information or to reserve a place. Lodging is also available 15 minutes away in the scenic town of Jemez Springs. Meals are not included, though snacks and drinks are provided.

Advance registration is required only for classes and retreats. You can just show up at sabbats and Blessed Beavers work parties. There is no charge for sabbat celebrations; donations toward cost are accepted, and bring a potluck dish or beverage. Blessed Beavers work parties pay you: $40 in Beaver Bucks for a day's volunteer service.

  • Western Way of Healing

    This workshop presents a nature based focus of health, healing and well-being. It introduces the wisdom seeker and practitioner to the many pathways and practices of the Western Ways of Healing.

    It presents methods and practices that have been used for centuries in western cultures as the ways and means of healing the sick and maintaining the well-being of the community. It includes explorations, protocols and models of practice that have developed in the present centuries.

    The participant will explore the nature ways of Naturopathy and Homeopathy, and the plant ways of Herbalism, Aromatherapy and Flower Essences. The workshop invites meetings with the Spirits of Nature, the Gods, the Goddesses and the Wisdom Keepers of the ancient ways of healing.

  • The Rede and Beyond: Ethics for Pagans

    What is “right living?” What are the ethical and moral codes that have guided humanity through the ages? What behavioral codes guided the ancient Babylonians and Egyptians, and Celts? How can you tell right from wrong? Let’s look at the Wiccan Rede and the Nine Noble Virtues in relation to the ethical codes of Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity and the rest.     The divinatory arts give us insight into our situations, our endeavors, and ourselves. This weekend intensive offers a broad survey of divinatory tools and practices. Learn to use oracles such as tarot, runes, and I Ching; work with scrying methods such as crystal gazing; and develop your intuitive capacity and learn to receive wisdom from animals, plants, and places. Students who have their own favorite divination tool or method are encouraged to bring it with them and share with the class.

    Beyond the "how to" aspects, the class will also touch on divination ethics, how to maintain a strong divination practice over time, and the different challenges presented by reading for oneself and for others.

  • Within the Heart of Tarot

    There is another way to read the Tarot, a way that that does not rely or memorization or flashes of psychic insight. A way that respects and empowers the querent, drawing on the insights and techniques of gestalt psychology.   • Path of the Shaman

    This weekend intensive provides students with a firm foundation in the basics of shamanic practice. Following the creation of sacred space, we discuss shamanism as a living, evolving path, introducing participants to the common elements shared by early, indigenous, and modern shamanic traditions. The roles and responsibilities of "shaman" will be investigated throughout the weekend. You can expect to:

  • On Being a Healer

    The healing relationship is the interaction one has with one's self, with another person, with soul and spirit, with community and place, with nature and the universe. This two day workshop explores and teaches the interpersonal skills and the basic elements of that healing relationship.

    An intentional healing relationship is a partnership of persons who come together for the purpose of health and healing. The healing relationship is both intuitive and sensing, It focuses attention and intention. It is participative and co-creative.

    In this workshop we will examine, discuss and learn the nature of being a healer, the elements of a healing relationship, creating and participating in a healing community, intentionally and the healing field, the traps and shadows of the healer, ethics and the boundaries of a healing relationship.

    This class is a basic class in the Healing Arts Certificate Program.

    The Full Moon is a time of great potency for the practice of witchcraft and other forms of Pagan magic. Intimately connected with the Goddess and her mysteries, the Moon's energy is primary for many modern witches.

    July 15-18 at Ardantane with Ardantane Staff and Volunteers

    The Ardantane Teen Retreat will offer a profound opportunity for the teens of our community to experience a mindful connection with nature, various Pagan paths, and themselves.

    We will be exploring how to live our lives with kindness and diversity. Various mentors will be conducting workshops on drum making, outdoor survival, magick, and lots of other activities. Enjoy a weekend in the wonderful Jemez Mountains on the campus of Ardantane Pagan Learning Center.

    This retreat is a 'don't miss!' for any teen interested in experiencing Paganism and mindfulness practices, truthful/heartfelt communication, wonderful mentors, safe community, great food, and a time to relax and meet new friends!

    Sacred Firelighting helps participants approach fire as a holy presence, especially in the context of ritual and magick. Much of the afternoon will be spent learning and practicing different ways to begin a fire (flint and steel, bow and drill, focused sunlight) and to end it. Emphasis will be on sabbat bonfires, ritual fires, and bardic circle fires. We will include material on Brigit’s Sacred Flame in Kildare.

  • Ways of Magick

    Through magic, we transform the reality we live in. Magic is found in all times and cultures, and despite differences, there are also many common patterns, concepts and practices.

    This weekend workshop provides intensive hands-on instruction on the theory and practice of creating positive change by magical means. The emphasis is on ideas and techniques that allow you to create your own spells or magical workings, rather than relying on what others have done. Topics covered include magical symbolism, raising and directing energy, and magic as a tool for spiritual growth. Both planning and execution of magical work are considered in detail. The course covers astrological timing as well as the use of herbs, oils, and tools.

    Join us to learn about the many traditions and flavors of nature spirituality that are collectively called Paganism. We will look at Wicca, Druidry, Goddess celebration, Asatru, shamanism, and the core beliefs and practices they share. Local groups, resources, and events will be explained, and there will be experiential exercises, music, and refreshments. This program is for information and education, and does not seek to recruit or proselytize. People of all tolerant faiths are welcome.

  • Plant Medicine: Fall and Winter Herbs

    This class will discuss the fall and winter plants and foods useful for good immune health. Roots, berries, and herbals for flus, colds and winter blues will be addressed. Infections and how they are spread and how to interrupt the infection chain will be presented. The fall and winter Materia Medica will be presented. The herbal poultice, tincturing, teas, herbal wines, congees and “yes, more soups” will be discussed. We will make a tea, a fall soup and a tincture during this class. We will review the ethical use of Plant Medicine and the Standards of Practice as herbalists.

This workshop focuses on techniques to make your rituals visually powerful by planning the lights, colors, and shapes we see: altar arrangements, lighting, costumes, decorations and visual foci, visualizations, visual language, and much more. You can double the effect of any ritual you design by changing the visual environment externally and internally. Discussion, demonstrations, exercises, and ritual to show you how.

  • Death, Dying, and the Eternal Spirit
