Students who have their own favorite divination tool or method are encouraged to bring it with them and share with the class.
Beyond the "how to" aspects, the class will also touch on divination ethics, how to maintain a strong divination practice over time, and the different challenges presented by reading for oneself and for others.

  • WAY OF THE BOW
School of SHAMANIC STUDIES/School of MAGICK and WITCHCRAFT - Fee $110
at Ardantane, Saturday - Sunday, May 18-19, 2013
    Falco, Amber

The art of archery can be a path of meditation and spiritual practice. A witch or magus does not have to travel far on the way of the bow to see parallels between it and the way of magick. This is a hands-on workshop to introduce the bow to those who have never walked that path. Equipment will be provided. Students can bring their equipment if they like. The second day will be devoted to the use, construction and releasing of a magick arrow made by the participant, charged with intent, released into the unknown and left there. A small materials fee, no more than $10, will be required.
Falco is High Priest of Our Lady of the Woods, an elder clergy in CoG and was originally trained by Jesse and E’star in the Chachiote! Coven. He has been a member of the New Mexico Wiccan community since 1993. Two years ago he picked up the bow and quickly saw the relationship between shooting well, magical work and consistent, focused, private practice in any discipline as well as magical work

  • MOON LORE AND MAGICK
School of MAGICK and WITCHCRAFT - Fee $110
at Ardantane, Saturday - Sunday, Nov. 16-17, 2013
    Amber K

The Full Moon is a time of great potency for the practice of witchcraft and other forms of Pagan magic. Intimately connected with the Goddess and her mysteries, the Moon's energy is primary for many modern Pagans. This workshop provides intensive training in making use of the Full Moon's energy in the context of magic and ritual. We will learn how the energy of the Moon shifts with the cycle of the seasons, how to perform effective Full Moon magic alone or with a group, and how the contrasting energies of Goddess and God (Moon and Sun) can lend their power to magical work. This workshop is intended for those who have already taken up Witchcraft, Wicca, or a similar Pagan magical practice. Also included are fascinating stories of the creation of the moon, the colored moons, Earth's other moons, and more.

  • EXPLORING YOUR SHADOW SIDE
School of SHAMANIC STUDIES/School of MAGICK and WITCHCRAFT - Fee $60
at Ardantane, Saturday Nov. 23, 2013
    Staff: Rowan, Cedar

Just as a large part of the year is filled by the darkness of winter, an important part of our magick is shadow work: exploring those areas of our own hearts and minds that are difficult, painful, and largely unknown—hidden in shadow. When we experience fear, anger, hatred, shame, guilt, grief, or even irritation or embarrassment, we can be sure that a shadow issue has been triggered. Shadow issues ultimately reveal themselves in harmful behaviors. Unresolved shadow issues also frequently lead to emotional, mental, and physical illness. All these things stunt our potential. They limit our ability to be joyous, creative, lifegiving, and healing individuals. In this class we will explore ways to face our shadow sides, work to understand the sources and roots, then reframe, transmute, and harness the power that resides in the shadow.

  • NAVIGATING YOUR LIFE: A PAUSE TO REFLECT
School of SACRED LIVING - Fee $60
at Ardantane, Saturday Dec. 7, 2013
    Azrael Arynn K

Many wise ones have felt that "The life unexamined is not worth living." When was the last time you took a deep breath, stepped back, and looked at the whole of your life? Have you lived the life you dreamed of, and achieved the aims most precious to you? What legacy when you leave when you pass on? Thinking on these things is important at any stage of life, but crucial for those who have entered their mature and elder years. The alternative is to slide through life unthinking, as a creature solely of habit and routine. Explore these issues and review where you are on your path, in a supportive and positive environment. Discussion, exercises, and meditation will help you review the arc of your life and decide what happens in the next phase.
