Dark Goddess: The Morrigan

November 5 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$10

The Morrigan is the term given to Goddess Morrigan, one of the triple Goddesses in Celtic mythology. She represented the circle of life and was associated with both birth and death , sovereignty and her association with the land. These are two of Her most important aspects and also the most overlooked in the rush to make her a blood thirsty battle goddess. They are, in fact, the reason she is on the battlefield.

Her name translates to “great queen” or “phantom queen”. She was a shape-shifter and looked over the rivers, fresh water and lakes. She is also described as being the patroness of revenge, magic, priestesses, night, prophecy and witches.

Join Lora Jackson Legare, who has been a practicing Wiccan for 35 years. She is a professional archaeologist, professor of anthropology, and writer. She has led numerous public rituals in southern New Mexico and conducted workshops and classes on developing connections with Celtic Goddesses and Gods, stone magick, and magickal correspondences, and led many guided meditation.
Rowan (Laura Liles) has been involved in the Pagan/Wiccan community in northern New Mexico since 1986. A third degree initiate in the Ladywoods tradition, she has taught Magick and Witchcraft extensively at Ardantane, at Merry Meet, Pagan Spirit Gathering (PSG), Magickal Mountian Mabon and Dragonfest.
FREE to sustaining members of Ardantane. Others will need to register below. The fee is $10.
Registration for this class closes on Thursday, November 4 at 5pm.
